Creating a Firm Foundation For Our Students
Helping Students Grow
Baptist Prep’s Lower School campus, located in Little Rock’s Pleasant Valley community, houses K5-6th grade and our Early Childhood Center. The Lower School is designed to help students reach developmental milestones and build a biblical foundation through our curricula, programs, and activities.
Lower School Programs
We work faithfully to develop and implement programs that will prepare our students to engage the world academically, socially, and spiritually. Our programs include:
Gifted & Talented
Baptist Prep’s Gifted and Talented Program is designed to nurture creativity and enrich students’ education by providing them with opportunities to discover and develop their strengths. Students will be challenged academically and taught to use their gifts to become Christian leaders in the world.
Accelerated Reader
Accelerated Reader is a computer-based program that we use to help monitor and evaluate students’ reading practice and growth. The program encourages students to read more and tests their comprehension by quizzing them after each book.Â
STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math)
Baptist Prep encourages all students to grow in their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The Lower School offers an equipped STEAM lab that students get to explore each week. It provides an interdisciplinary approach to education while creating an environment where students can ask questions, experiment, and develop team-building skills as they learn to work together.Â
Fine Arts
Baptist Prep’s Fine Arts program gives students a chance to develop and showcase their God-given artistic talents. We offer music classes in choir, recorder (4th grade), and band (5th & 6th grade). We also offer art classes for students K–6.Â
Extended Care
In addition to the programs listed above, we offer Extended Care to students from K3-6th grade. Our goal is to provide flexibility and reliable care to our Baptist Prep Family outside of normal school hours. Students are encouraged to play, unwind from their day, and have fun with friends. Extended Care is available from 7-7:45 A.M. and from 3-6 P.M. every weekday and 11:45-3:00 P.M. Tuesday-Thursday for ½ day students.
