The Baptist Prep coaches have been conducting practices this summer, preparing our student-athletes for competitions throughout the summer. The teams have been working hard on the field, on the court, and in the weight room.
Our Varsity and Junior High Cheer squads traveled to Hot Springs for the NCA cheer camp. The Varsity squad won first place in the cheer division competition in our classification. The Junior High squad also won several awards. The girls worked very hard and learned a lot over the four-day camp.
Thirty members of our men’s basketball teams attended the Harding University team basketball camp in Searcy, Arkansas. The boys played in the 8th, 9th, Junior Varsity, and Varsity divisions. Each team played ten games over a three-day period.
The Varsity girl’s basketball team also attended the Harding University team basketball camp.
The girls played nine games over the three-day camp and competed well. The Junior High girl’s basketball team competed in the Morrilton team camp where they played teams from several large schools from across the state.
The volleyball team has had several practices in June in preparation for the team camps that they will be competing in during July. They plan on attending team camps in Little Rock, Searcy, and Branson, MO.
The football team competed in the Episcopal 7-on-7 tournament as well as team camps at Mayflower and Magnet Cove. The boys finished up their June competitions by traveling to the University of Arkansas to compete in the 7-on-7 tournament and lineman camp.
The baseball team is working out in the weight room and working on individual skill development. They also played a short summer season in June.
Those individuals running cross country have been running as a team every Monday morning. During the rest of the week, they are putting in the mileage on their own.
Thank you for your commitment and dedication during the summer to improve your skills in your sport. We look forward to a great year in athletics at Baptist Prep.
