The Baptist Prep men’s and women’s basketball programs each held camps at the start of the summer for our Lower School students.
The women’s program held a camp for girls entering 3rd – 6th grades. Using small groups, coaches worked with campers to teach skills and conducted drills throughout the week to help reinforce these skills. The girls were great and really enjoyed getting to be on the court as well as working with the coaches. The future is definitely bright for women’s basketball at Baptist Prep.
The men’s program conducted two basketball camps this summer for 1st-3rd grade boys and 4th-7th grade boys. The coaching staff along with the senior high basketball players had a great time with the campers as we worked on the fundamental aspects of the game of basketball like ball-handling, shooting, passing, and footwork. Each day, the campers competed in numerous competitions in their age division. To begin the day, we shared a Bible verse that applied to the game of basketball and to life off the court. The campers did a great job each day, and they certainly improved throughout the week! We appreciate everyone who came and we look forward to seeing them at some games this year as they cheer on the Eagles to victory!
